CLOUGH WARY OF CONFIDENT MILLWALL

22 February 2018

NIGEL Clough expects a tough game against a confident Millwall side on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

The visitors arrive at the Pirelli Stadium as one of the form teams in the Championship and are unbeaten in seven.

The Brewers manager says: “They are as confident as any team in the league. They are a very good team who play to their strengths.

“What a brilliant first season they have had in the Championship and they are just about safe now, which says a lot about how well they have done.

“They have one of the most dangerous forward lines in the league. They are capable of scoring goals and you have to deal with that threat first. They are uncompromising, full of running and they are very honest and very difficult to play against.

“Nobody enjoys going down to Millwall and that’s an advantage they make the most of. We nicked the three points down there and they have come out and have said they are still thinking about that.”

But Clough says that his team are also in a confident mood after three games unbeaten and a vital 2-1 win at Barnsley on Tuesday.

He says: “If we can get a home win that would be wonderful, but the main thing is to keep that unbeaten run going.

“Our last four performances have been excellent and Barnsley was as well as we have played in a first half. We have conceded one goal in the last three games and it has been a deflection.”
