BOYCE SAYS BREWERS HAVE TO BE CAREFUL IN COLD WEATHER

LIAM Boyce admits that he has had to train with caution due to the weather this week.

Sub-zero temperatures and regular snow showers have meant that the Brewers have trained on a hard surface on Tuesday and will spend the rest of the week training indoors at St. George’s Park.

Boyce has only recently returned from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury which kept him out until earlier this month. The Northern Ireland international says that players have to be careful when training in such conditions and believes that it does affect how the team will prepare for their trip to Bramall Lane.

He said: “On Tuesday, the weather was fine when we started and within 10 minutes it was covered in snow. You can lose your footing very easily and we all had moulds on, you just have to be careful because one slip for me could twist my knee a way that I don’t want it to go.

“You just have to be careful with everything, especially in training. In a game, there is a lot on the line, but in training you hold back a bit and that has an effect before the game at the weekend.”
