LUKE Murphy says he has thoroughly enjoyed his first year at Burton Albion and he is grateful for the chance to play regular first team football again.
The midfielder signed on loan from Leeds United in January 2017 initially until the end of the season. He returned to the Brewers on a season-long loan last summer. He has been one of the first names on the Brewers team sheet ever since.
He says: “There has been ups and downs performances wise but on a daily basis I have really enjoyed my time here and wouldn’t have changed anything.
“I’m playing every week, playing in a team where you can look to the man next to you and know he’s ready to go into battle with you and it’s just the enjoyment of it. At Leeds I wasn’t playing, I wasn’t enjoying the game and I came to Burton at the perfect time and I got back to loving the game again.
“I will always say that I will be forever grateful to the manager and the club for giving me that opportunity.
“The achievement we had of staying up last season really meant something to me and we are looking to do the same again this season.”
