MURPHY SAYS BREWERS GO INTO QPR GAME WITH CONFIDENCE HIGH

12 January 2018

LUKE MURPHY says the Brewers will go into tomorrow’s game at home to QPR (kick off 3pm) brimming with confidence.

The midfielder believes that Albion are in good form and will be looking to bring their away successes back to the Pirelli Stadium.

He said: “We are going into the game full of confidence on the back of some really good performances and results. We drew last time at home and now we need to get three points. I think from the away performance at Bolton we have kicked on and if we can get three points on Saturday that might also start the momentum here at the Pirelli Stadium which is what we need at this moment in time.

“It might not be a pretty game, it will be more about the battles, winning the second balls but sometimes they are the games where if you come off the pitch with the three points you have really enjoyed it.”

Murphy has also enjoyed striking up a midfield partnership with Tom Naylor.

“He does a lot of running. I knew from pre-season that he is a really fit lad but it’s only when you play with him that you really understand how hard he works.

“At Sheffield Wednesday there was a minute to go and we were 2-0 up and he was charging around and I was telling him just to hold the shape, sit in and see the game out. He ignored me, ran forward and got another goal so I have to say fair play to him and don’t listen to me.”
