HARNESS SIGNS NEW DEAL

25 January 2018

MARCUS Harness has signed a new deal with Burton Albion that will run until 2020.

A product of the Burton Albion Academy, Harness made his debut for the Brewers in September 2013 against Notts County in the EFL Trophy. He is currently on-loan at Port Vale where he has played 33 times, scoring twice and getting five assists for the League Two side this campaign.

Harness has played 44 times for the Brewers, with 10 of those appearances coming in the Championship last season. The winger follows fellow Academy graduates Joe Sbarra and Ben Fox in extending his stay at the Pirelli Stadium until 2020.

On extended his stay with the Brewers, Harness said: “I am buzzing to have signed to stay here, I hope that I can come back in the summer and push to be a part of this team.

“With the club being in the Championship, it would be massive if I could come back and secure a place in the team at that level.

“I have been enjoying (the loan at Port Vale) and I feel like I am getting better every game.

“I think that (playing regularly) is helping me, I think that the team has a lot of ability and we will be fine.”
