NIGEL Clough is hoping to bring more new faces into the squad before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.
The Brewers manager said: “There is the possibility of another one or two coming in and maybe one or two going out, but we are happy with the numbers we have got at the moment.
“We won’t get anyone in time to play against Reading, it’s more likely to be Tuesday/Wednesday now that we do some business. It doesn’t help having a game the night before transfer deadline day but you just have to work around it. “
It’s attacking options rather than defensive cover that the Brewers are looking for despite Stephen Warnock going out on loan to Bradford.
Clough said: “We have Damien McCrory. He has a knock at the moment but he will be available in a couple of weeks’ time so he will provide any cover necessary down the left hand side.”
The Brewers could also bring Ben Fox back from his loan move to Gateshead.
Clough said: “We have a 28-day recall on Ben and he has already been out ten days so in a couple of weeks we can bring him back. If we don’t get an extra player in, Gateshead understand we might bring him back. He was quite close to our first team and now some players have gone out he would be even closer.”
