CLOUGH HOPES PLAYERS CAN TAKE CONFIDENCE FROM BEATING READING AWAY

30 January 2018

NIGEL Clough says that the victory at Reading on December 23 could help the Brewers in the return at the Pirelli Stadium tonight (7.45pm kick off).

The Brewers manager said: “It helps a little bit, especially in the players’ minds and thinking about how we went about it.

“We will do a refresh on Reading, but they pretty much play the same and I don’t think they will change.

“Because it’s only a few weeks ago that we played there, it helps and we are getting to the stage where we have to get a result at home.

“When you play Reading the main challenge you have is when to press and when not to. If you press and you are not all together the quality they have will cut around you. They can get out very quickly.

“Against Reading and Sheffield Wednesday we showed that when we close down together we win the ball.”
