NIGEL Clough hopes that David Templeton will be able to get his first taste of Brewers action on Saturday.
The summer signing has not featured in either of Albion’s pre-season friendlies through injury but will train on Friday with a view to playing some part in the game at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday.
Clough says that John Brayford and Marvin Sordell will be assessed after playing against Kidderminster last night, as will Ben Turner who missed the game through a calf injury.
“There are a couple of knocks and niggles after last night (against Kidderminster). It was John Brayford’s first 45 minutes, so we will see how he is. I think that Marvin Sordell got a whack but should be okay.
“Ben Turner missed last night through a slight calf, so we will assess him in the week. David Templeton will train, hopefully on Friday so if possible, we will get him on the bench and see if we can get him 20-30 minutes on Saturday against Aston Villa.
“Hopefully Elliot Hodge will stay with us for another week because we think he has done well so far. Apart from that, everyone except Will Miller should be available.”
