NIGEL Clough says that the postponement of our fixture with Matlock Town was a joint-decision due to fixture congestion for the hosts and the Brewers wanting to send the strongest possible squad to the game.
Albion were due to face the Gladiators at their Proctor Cars Stadium on Tuesday, but the game was postponed earlier today.
Clough says that Matlock having matches on Saturday and Monday for the Albion friendly, and the Brewers wanting to be able to send a strong side for the game were key factors in the decision to postpone the game.
He said “We have a few injuries for tomorrow’s game, we did not want to send the youth team as we wanted to be able to send the strongest possible squad to Matlock for the match.
“We spoke to Shaun Harrad, who is at Matlock, about it and, in conjunction with Matlock, we decided to postpone the game, which worked for them as they have a match on Saturday and another on Monday.”
