DURING the 2016-17 football season, Ed Wood, a Derby County supporter, watched a match at all 92 Premier and Football League grounds in England.

Starting at Bristol Rovers in August and finishing at Rochdale in February, it took Ed a total of 189 days to watch a match at each of the 92 grounds across the country.

In doing so, Ed set a new Guinness World Record for the fastest time to watch a match at each league ground.

In fact, the total number of football grounds visited was 93, as those taking on this particular challenge must also visit Berwick Rangers, who play in the Scottish League, but whose ground is located in England.

Two years later, Des Hinks, a Stockport County fan and actor from Cheshire, is currently awaiting the release of the new fixtures for the 2018-19 season, before attempting to break the record.

During the challenge, Des will also be raising money for the Depression Alliance charity.

Des, who last year appeared on stage as Judd in ‘Bouncers’, will begin his attempt upon returning from the Edinburgh Fringe, where he will be appearing in ‘Mission: Her’ for two weeks in August.

Potentially, the world record attempt could still be starting, or finishing, at Burton Albion. That decision will be made once the new fixtures are published on Thursday June 21.
