TOM Naylor has left Burton Albion and will be joining Portsmouth.
The defender was out of contract this summer but was one of six players offered a new deal by Nigel Clough.
The Brewers manager said: "We made Tom an offer that would have made him the joint-highest paid player at the club. We were a bit disappointed we weren't then given an opportunity to have another look at that in view of Portsmouth's interest.
"He has done well for us but he obviously wants a fresh challenge."
The 26-year-old joined the Brewers in 2015 from Derby County, initially on loan before signing a permanent deal.
Having started with Albion as a midfielder he was mainly used as a centre-back in the second half of last season.
