FLEUR ROBINSON NAMED ON INFLUENTIAL FOOTBALL BLACK LIST

12 June 2018

BURTON Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson has been named on the influential Football Black List for her work in the game.

As well as her key position at Burton Albion, Fleur is one of only eight women on the FA Council and is also on the EFL Trust board.

Fleur is well-known for championing opportunities for women not only in sport but in all areas and organised the Inspiring Your Future event which showcased career opportunities for sixth formers in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The Football Black List highlights the positive influence and inspiration of people from the black community working in sport. It was started in 2008 by sports journalists Leon Mann and Rodney Hinds.

The list is compiled by a panel of experts from the community and football industry. A host of initial nominations are whittled down to the final list of the most influential people. The panel included representation from the Premier League, The Football Association, Professional Footballers' Association, League Managers’ Association, the English Football League, FARE and Kick It Out.

Fleur was included in the sports administration section of the list.

She said: “It’s an honour to be included on this list. Here at Burton Albion we are passionate about promoting opportunities for everyone and the football club and Burton Albion Community Trust show that commitment to expanding horizons and opening up avenues in everything we do.

“I’m also keen to use my experience and knowledge inside and outside of football to open up more life chances for young women and raise their aspirations.”
