NIGEL Clough is aiming to boost his squad with new signings before the start of the League One season.
The Brewers manager said: “Ideally we would like to bring in two or three but it’s getting that necessary quality that’s better than what we have got.
“We are at the stage where we are talking to lots of players and we will be having players in on trial as well. We will also be exploring the loan market.
“We have to be patient and the transfer window is open for another two months yet.
“We also want to give our youngsters a chance next season. We will be very much looking at Joe Sbarra, Marcus Harness and Ben Fox in pre-season and I’m sure our supporters will want to see them have an opportunity in League One.
“When we are looking to bring in a new signing that’s our benchmark – they have to be better or different to what we have got and certainly Joe showed us a lot of good things and Ben and Marcus have done well out on loan.”
