LUCAS Akins says that the Brewers have to quickly get over Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat at home to Brentford.
Albion take on Bristol City at home on Saturday and the player who has seen the Brewers rise from League 2 to the Championship knows that his team have to bounce back quickly.
He says: “We have to react to that disappointment pretty quickly, move on and try and get something positive on Saturday
“At the moment it’s not happening for the team at home, but we can turn that around quite quickly and maybe get a bit of momentum and try and push ourselves up the table.
“We have to try our best to stay in a positive frame of mind. Bad things happen sometimes in football and you have to try and be as positive as you can. We have to take personal responsibility to write the wrongs, shake them off and not get too disappointed.”
Akins is currently playing at right back as Albion cope with a string of defensive injuries and although he’s used to a more forward role, he’s happy to help out at the back.
He said: “Football is a team game and during my time I have had to fill in various positions and I’m not going to complain if I’m playing games at this level. I would like to try and affect the game further up the field, but I can do that from the position I’m playing at the moment as well.”
