MATCH PREVIEW: WOLVES

16 March 2018

THE Brewers will be aiming to turn their recent good performances into points tomorrow as they travel to Molineux to face top of the league Wolverhampton Wanderers.

HEAD 2 HEAD

Although Wolves beat Burton 4-0 at the Pirelli Stadium in September, that result is their only win over the Brewers in three attempts. The first league meeting between the two took place last season when a late Will Miller strike earned a 1-1 draw for Nigel Clough’s side away from home.

Burton won their home fixture against Wolves 2-1 last season, with Michael Kightly scoring an equaliser against his former club before Cauley Woodrow netted a late winner.

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

Jamie Allen joined Burton Albion’s long list of injuries when he was forced off in the early stages at Sheffield United. The midfielder is a doubt for tomorrow’s fixture, along with Luke Murphy and Martin Samuelsen.

Ben Turner, John Brayford and Lucas Akins will all miss the game through injury, with Akins picking up a hamstring strain against Bristol City.

WOLVES TEAM NEWS

14-goal forward Diogo Jota may miss the game through injury after picking up a knock against Reading.

REFEREE

Geoff Eltringham will be the man in the middle tomorrow. The County Durham referee has taken charge of 19 Championship games this season, dishing out 71 yellow cards, two red cards and has awarded four penalties.

Eltringham officiated Burton Albion’s opening day fixture against Cardiff City.
