MCCRORY: ‘WE WANT TO WIN EVERY GAME’

9 November 2018

DAMIEN McCrory says that the Brewers' performance levels will not drop in the FA Cup, as the side look to overcome Scunthorpe United tomorrow.

Albion come into the game buoyed by wins over Nottingham Forest and Walsall, each of which came in a different competition. The FA Cup first-round clash with Scunthorpe presents Nigel Clough’s side with a chance to go on another cup run, having so far made it to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

McCrory says that the team are determined to keep winning games in all competitions, as it gives confidence to the squad.

He said: “I think when you go into any game as a defender, the clean sheet is the priority. It would be nice to get a goal early and progress from that, like we did at Walsall on Saturday.

“It doesn’t matter what cup we are in, a win is a win and players get confidence from a win. Players also get confidence from scoring goals and keeping clean sheets, we want to win every competitive game.

“We want to progress in the FA Cup. It is now switching from league games to cup games but we want to bring it all together and keep the performances as they have been over the last five or six weeks and get the wins.”
