INTERNATIONAL ROUNDUP

16 November 2018

BREWERS Striker Liam Boyce played 70 minutes for Northern Ireland as they were held to a goalless draw by the Republic of Ireland last night.

Boyce, who is Albion’s top scorer so far this term, was unable to add to his one international goal, despite a dominant performance from Northern Ireland that saw Republic goalkeeper Darren Randolph pull off a string of remarkable saves to keep a clean sheet at the Aviva Stadium.

Northern Ireland’s next game is a UEFA Nations League clash with Austria at Windsor Park on Sunday, 5PM.

Boyce is not the only Burton Albion player currently away with his national side. Goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov, who extended his stay with the Brewers yesterday, could be in line to make his international debut for Bulgaria tonight.

The former Nottingham Forest man has been called up to the senior squad for the first time and will be hoping to play a part when Bulgaria face Cyprus in Nicosia tonight in a 7:45 kick-off.
