BREWERS SIGN ARMED FORCES COVENANT

16 November 2018

BURTON ALBION Football Club and Burton Albion Community Trust have signed the Armed Forces Covenant.

Matt Hancock, BACT Head of Community, said: "The Covenant recognises the value of the services, reservists, veterans and their families and role they have on society and we are delighted to sign the document and show our support.

"The club and Community Trust have been proactive in marking the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

"We had a collection for the Royal British Legion on a match day, have had poppy collection tins at the Pirelli Stadium and as part of the Football Remembers project planted an oak tree as a living legacy to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the First World War.

"But our respect and recognition of the contribution made by the Armed Forces is not just around November 11 but all year and that's why the club and Trust wanted to sign the covenant."
