INJURY UPDATE: BLACKPOOL

21 November 2018

NIGEL Clough may have his selection options limited by injury ahead of the League One trip to Blackpool on Saturday (kick off 3pm).

Ben Turner, Ben Fox and Marvin Sordell look certain to be out with several more players currently doubtful.

The Brewers manager said: “There are quite a few at this stage unfortunately.

“Marvin’s knee is still sore so he’s unlikely for the weekend. Ben Fox it’s the same with his hamstring. Although we might have to take a chance with somebody on the bench just to fill it.

“Reece Hutchinson is coming on well and is down to train on Friday before the Blackpool game. Ben Turner is going to be a little bit longer.

“The other ones who are carrying knocks are David Templeton, John Brayford and Damien McCrory.

“Devante Cole has had an injection in his groin this week to try and settle that down.

“We will ask those that play to give everything they have got, even half injured in the next two games as after that we have a ten-day break.”

The squad will be boosted by two players reporting back from their national sides.

Clough said: “Liam Boyce is back from international duty but with a black eye but otherwise has got through two games unscathed.

“Dimitar Evtimov is back from international duty as well on Friday but Brad Collins played ever so well last week and kept a clean sheet.

“Stephen Bywater will play an hour or so in today’s friendly against Derby to try and get back in the swing of things. Two and a half months is a long time out for any player but especially goalkeepers.”

The other good news for Clough is despite picking up another booking last Saturday Kyle McFadzean is still one yellow card short of a suspension so is available to play at Backpool.
