MORE TO COME FROM BREWERS SAYS CLOUGH

19 November 2018

NIGEL Clough says there is more to come from his Brewers team after they beat Coventry City 1-0 in League One.

The Albion manager hailed the 1-0 victory as the "best result of the season" especially as the Brewers were missing Liam Boyce and Dimitar Evtimov on international duty and had a depleted squad through injury with Marvin Sordell, Ben Turner and Ben Fox among those missing.

The Brewers are now just four points of the play-off places with with a game in hand on most teams above them after defeating what Clough rates as the best the Brewers have faced this season.

Clough said: "We had some great games in the league recently and some brilliant results.

"But we are still playing catch up from the first five or six games and it will probably take until Christmas and the New Year before we will get towards the top six or in it.

"We couldn't name a full 18 at the start of the season and despite all the players missing we could against Coventry.

"I think the players realise as well that when you lose a player of Liam Boyce's quality they all have to do a bit more and whether that's Devante Cole playing with a sore groin or Will Miller coming on and doing it - they all stood up.

"It was an important performance and result after last week at Scunthorpe."
