A GROUP of Burton Albion fans will be unveiling a banner in tribute to Lucas Akins at tonight’s game against Charlton.
The Harpers group of supporters are all long-time Albion fans who follow the team up and down the country week-in and week-out.
They all chipped in to create a banner to honour the Albion No 10 who has notched up 150 league appearances since joining the Brewers in 2014 and has played in virtually every outfield position.
The banner pays tribute to Akins’ loyalty to the club and his ability to make his mark anywhere he is asked to play.
There was £150 left over after the banner had been created which has been given to Akins to donate to his favourite charity.
He said: “The banner is brilliant, and I’m really touched that the fans have done this for me. I want to thank all the supporters who have been great throughout my time with Burton Albion."
Russell Harper, Keith Large and Pat Parker, who have clocked up well over 100 years supporting the Brewers collectively, came to the Pirelli Stadium to make the presentation.
Fans will be able to see the banner at tonight’s game.
