ALLEN SAYS BREWERS WILL LEARN FROM LOSS

28 November 2018

JAMIE Allen says that the Brewers did not deserve to taste defeat in their League One clash with Charlton Athletic. However, the midfielder says that Albion should have had the game won long before the Addicks snatched all three points.

Despite being a doubt pre-match, Allen started and played the entire game as a late Jason Pearce strike secured all three points for Lee Bowyer’s side. Albion dominated the game and forced goalkeeper Jed Steer into many high quality saves throughout the match.

Allen was disappointed to lose the game but says the Brewers will work to learn from the defeat and improve in future.

He said: “I thought that we dominated the game and we are just frustrated that we let it slip at the end. Our goalkeeper hasn’t really had anything to do and we had a few chances. We should have ended the game earlier, really, and took the three points.

“We are playing well but it was just the end of the game. One mistake happens and we don’t end up with any points. We have got to work on it and look to put games to bed earlier.”
