DEFENDER John Brayford believes that the Brewers should be aiming to make teams worry about playing them, rather than taking notice of the form of other teams.
Albion have lost just once in their last five league games, while Saturday’s opponents Wycombe Wanderers are yet to win at home and have picked up just a single victory this campaign.
Brayford is refusing to let Tuesday night’s defeat to Southend get in the way of a good period for the side and thinks teams will be worried about facing the Brewers at the moment, starting with Wycombe on Saturday.
He said: “I keep repeating myself, but it all comes back to us. We know how well we have done in the last month or so and if we take our form into the game, I think they should be worrying about us really.
“We are not going there gung-ho and saying ‘we are the best team in the league’ but we just concentrate on ourselves and play the football that we do. Let them worry about how we do.”
Brayford believes that Albion’s current league position does not reflect the quality of their performances but admits picking up points is the most important thing.
He said: “We have played a few games now and we are trying to establish ourselves in this league. I think that we have probably played better than the league position represents, but we have got to try to put points on the board.”
