EVTIMOV EXTENDS STAY AT BURTON ALBION FOR ANOTHER MONTH

16 October 2018

GOALKEEPER Dimitar Evtimov has extended his stay at Burton Albion by signing a new one-month contract.

The former Bulgarian under-21 international was signed on a short-term basis back in September following injuries to Stephen Bywater (shoulder) and Brad Collins (thigh, now back).

Evtimov has played six games for Albion, making his debut against Sunderland and playing in our 2-1 win over Premier League side Burnley in the Carabao Cup.

Evtimov kept a clean sheet in last weekend’s 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers and with both Bywater and Collins still working their way back to full fitness, the 25-year-old is now set to stay until November 15th.

“Dimitar kept a good clean sheet on Saturday and we’ve been very pleased with him,” said Brewers manager Nigel Clough.

“He’s been wonderful to work with - he’s great to have around, has fit straight in with the squad and really mucked in.

“With Bradley injured with his back and Stephen still making his way back, hopefully they’ll both be fit soon.”

In other goalkeeper news, young stopper Jack Livesey has been recalled from his youth loan spell at Gresley due a back injury.
