JAKE Hesketh says that the Burton Albion squad has made it easy for him to settle in, as he looks to kick-on in his first loan spell away from Southampton.
The 22-year-old has played four League One games so far this season, as well as playing in the Carabao Cup victory over Burnley last month.
The midfielder joined the Brewers late in the summer loan window and admits that it did take him a bit of time to adapt. However, the youngster believes that he has settled in well to the group.
He said: “I think that I have settled in really well. I get on well with everyone and it is a good group of lads, so it is quite easy. Everybody makes you feel welcome and it was easy to settle in.
“Obviously, there are differences in the levels (under 23s football and League One). It took me a few weeks to get used to it in training, and once I started getting in the team a bit, I started getting used to it in matches as well. I don’t feel like it has taken me too long.
“I am learning from them (experienced players) in training, in terms of the things they do and how they prepare. We also have a few players that are around my age that I can talk to and relate to, which has made it really easy for me.”
