ROSE URGES FANS TO COME AND WATCH THE YOUNG BREWERS

18 October 2018

PROFESSIONAL Development Phase Lead Coach Sam Rose has urged Burton Albion fans to come down and support the Young Brewers in the FA Youth Cup on tomorrow night.

The under 18s will face Coventry City at the Pirelli Stadium in the first-round proper of the competition, with the game kicking-off at 7PM.

Rose believes that playing in front of a home crowd will be good for the Academy players to experience, and hopes that as many Albion fans can attend the game as possible.

“It is a really exciting draw. It will be good to test ourselves against a category two club and a club such as Coventry, who have not just produced players for the EFL, but also internationals. It will be a really good challenge for our boys.

“Overall, we are excited to get a home draw against a really strong opposition. In my time here, we have played at Molineux, Elland Road and Bramall Lane. We have played at some really illustrious stadiums, so it is nice to be playing at home.

“We have had some success in getting players from the Professional Development Phase into the first team in recent years. For our current lads to be playing on the Pirelli Stadium pitch is a key point in their development, as they are aspiring to play in the first team.

“It would be really good to create an atmosphere here, and for those fans that are local to come down and watch the game. It will be a special evening for the players, they will be looking forward to playing on the Pirelli Stadium turf, and the FA Youth Cup games are always special.

“It will be good entertainment, you never really know what will happen with cup games, so we hope to see as many Burton Albion fans there as possible.”

This is a great opportunity to see the next generation of Burton Albion players in action. Admission to the game is £5 for adults and £3 for under 17s. Be sure not to miss your chance to see the Young Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium.
