MCFADZEAN AIMING TO INCREASE GOAL TALLY

22 October 2018

KYLE McFadzean was pleased to be amongst the goals against Plymouth Argyle, but the defender is hoping to make it a more regular occurrence.

The centre-half scored twice at Home Park, while also seeing an effort cleared off the line. McFadzean had said previously, after scoring his first of the season against Sunderland, that he wants between five and 10 goals this season.

The defender is hoping to add to his goal tally further this season, and says he should have even more than three strikes to his name already this campaign.

He said: “It was nice to get a couple of goals and obviously a win. I said to Quinny, ‘just put it on the penalty spot and I will head it’. He did that and I scored. I fancied myself every time. The lads really worked hard and I thought that we deserved to win.

“Andy Garner and I had a little bet. I said that I would get six goals this season. He has a bit of banter after every game. To be honest, I could have scored against Bristol Rovers last week and I should have scored a hat-trick last against Plymouth, with the one cleared off the line, and my shot in the first-half wasn’t far away. I am happy to come away with two goals, three points and we look forward to Tuesday.”
