INJURY UPDATE: PETERBOROUGH

26 October 2018

NIGEL Clough is still waiting on the fitness of a string of senior players as the Brewers prepare to take on second placed Peterborough at the Pirelli Stadium tomorrow (kick off 3pm).

Damien McCrory, Marvin Sordell, Ben Turner, David Templeton and Scott Fraser were all missing on Tuesday when the Brewers earned a 2-2 draw at top-of-the-table Portsmouth.

The Albion manager said: “We were hoping to get a few involved in training today. We are not sure about Turner and McCrory because of their calf injuries. I’m not sure they will make this weekend or Tuesday (against Nottingham Forest).

“Fraser and Templeton should be pretty close and Sordell as well we hope. They are all getting there and are not long term but just niggly things that players get at this time of the season.

“Five senior players out at the same time is not ideal but it can happen like that. We had a pretty full squad prior to those injuries but all of sudden one goes and then another and you are five down.

“But the youngsters have stepped up and anyone who has come in and taken the place of the senior players has done remarkablly well.”
