TEMPLETON RELISHING CHECKATRADE TROPHY CHALLENGE

4 September 2018

DAVID Templeton says that the Brewers are excited by the prospect of doing well in another cup competition, as they prepare to face Walsall in the Checkatrade Trophy this evening.

The Brewers have already made it to the third round of the Carabao Cup, beating Shrewsbury Town and Aston Villa to set up a tie with Premier League side Burnley.

Albion are in Northern Group E with Walsall, Port Vale and Middlesbrough under 21s, and Templeton, who scored in the EFL Cup win over Shrewsbury and played the entire game against Villa, says that the team will be looking to go as far into the competition as possible.

He said: “There are so many games coming thick and fast and it is another cup competition that we will want to do well in.

“Every competition that you are in, you are looking to get as far as possible and we will be looking to get a positive result on Tuesday.”
