INJURY UPDATE: ACCRINGTON

5 September 2018

JAKE Buxton, Damien McCrory and John Brayford are all expected to miss Saturday’s trip to Accrington through injury and Liam Boyce will be on international duty with Northern Ireland.

There are also concerns over David Templeton, Scott Fraser and Ben Fox although Nigel Clough is hoping all three will be fit for Saturday.

The Brewers boss said: “With Jake Buxton it’s day-to-day with his back and we will see how it goes.

“Damien McCrory is coming on well and we hope he will join in and do some work with the lads in training today. He has been doing one-to-one work with Nick Fenton and seems OK.

“John Brayford (hamstring) won’t be ready.

“David Templeton has a groin problem and had to miss last night’s game. Scott Fraser took a couple of knocks on Saturday and Ben Fox has hurt his heel. But we hope they will be ok.

“Unfortunately, we will be without Liam Boyce. With the form he’s been in it will be a big miss for us.”

On the plus side Will Miller, Jake Flannigan, Jake Hesketh and Devante Cole all got much-needed game time against Walsall last night.

Joe Sbarra was also back in action in the Checkatrade Trophy after his ankle injury

Clough said: “He wasn’t quite his effervescent self but when you are a young player and been out for a few weeks it takes time to come back.”
