ZERO TOLERANCE OF RACIAL ABUSE AT PIRELLI STADIUM

18 September 2018

FOLLOWING the arrest and subsequent charge of a visiting supporter at Saturday’s home game, Burton Albion Football Club would like to remind all supporters that there is zero tolerance of racial abuse at the Pirelli Stadium.

The football club is fully committed to stamping out all forms of abuse and making the matchday experience not only family friendly but welcoming for all visitors.

At the League One game against Sunderland a male aged 52 was arrested and charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

The accused will now appear at South Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court in October.

Burton Albion would like to remind all fans that incidents of this nature will never be tolerated.

Supporters are encouraged to report any person making offensive comments to the nearest police officer, steward or to Kick it Out via the easily downloadable app.
