KYLE McFadzen believes that the Brewers are benefiting from playing with the same shape on a regular basis.
The defender played the full 90 minutes on Saturday as Albion handed Sunderland their first defeat of the season.
Nigel Clough’s side have mostly played with a 4-3-3 formation this season. McFadzean feels that the quality of many players in the squad has helped the formation to work, with the Brewers having won their last three League One home games.
He said: “We have to have certain personnel to go in (to the formation). We have been lucky; David Templeton and Marvin Sordell are good wingers. Joe Sbarra can play there, so we have been blessed with some good wingers.
“Stephen Quinn has done well in midfield, as has Jamie Allen. We have got a good balance now and it does help to play the same formation every week.”
