BURTON Albion Community Trust (BACT) and Burton Albion Football Club are pleased to be working in partnership to launch the 1950 Club.
The club will launch on Monday 29th October and will be a series of events that winds its way back down Burton Albion’s Memory Lane.
The new events will aim to help those affected by and living with dementia. Sporting reminiscence is fun, stimulating, evokes magical memories, sparks conversation and debate, brings people together and allows people to share the passion they have for their favourite club. The benefits of sporting reminiscence are very clear to those who have experienced it.
The first event on Monday October 29 will run 6pm-8pm and be hosted at the Pirelli Stadium, there will be FREE tea and coffee along with plenty of free parking. Brewers fans will be able to listen to the football club's chairman Ben Robinson and special guest Aaron Webster talk about their memories of Burton Albion FC and share their own experiences.
Fans are invited to bring along their old programmes, photographs, teamsheets, kits and any other memorabilia. The event is FREE to attend thanks to funding support from Staffordshire County Councillors Bernard Peters and Ron Clarke.
Burton Albion Football Club Chairman, Ben Robinson said: “There have been some fantastic memories during my time with the club. I am sure the fans have some happy and funny stories from days gone by also.
"These events will be a fantastic opportunity to share some of those stories and hopefully see some memorabilia too."
There will be three events in total up until Christmas all hosted at the Pirelli Stadium - the dates and times of which are below.
