SORDELL: ‘WE WILL GO THERE WITH CONFIDENCE’

21 September 2018

THE Brewers will be heading into the game with Barnsley full of confidence, according to forward Marvin Sordell.

Albion head into the game at Oakwell still looking for their first away win in the league, but will be buoyant after handing Sunderland their first defeat of the season last time out.

Barnsley also saw their unbeaten run come to an end last weekend, with a late Coventry goal compounded them to a 1-0 loss at the Ricoh Arena.

Sordell is aware that Barnsley have had a strong start to the season, although the striker believes the Brewers will be feeling confident ahead of the game.

He said: “I think it is a similar game to Sunderland. Barnsley have started well and we have had an indifferent start. We will go there with confidence after our last result. We will be fully fresh and I think that we will get a good result.

“Regardless of which league you are in, you always have to adjust to a new season. I think that we are coming off the back of two seasons where we were fighting against teams that were bigger than us and expected to beat us. We are going into games where we have to win now.

“You can see now that we go into games confident that we can win. I think that the mentality of the last two seasons maybe crept into the opening few games of the season. We were trying to stay in games.”
