PREVIEW: BARNSLEY VS BREWERS

22 September 2018

THE Brewers travel to Oakwell today in search of their first league away win of the season. However, Albion know it will be a tough test against a side that has only lost once in League One so far.

HEAD 2 HEAD

The Brewers have not lost at Oakwell since 2015. Seven meetings have taken place between the two sides, with Burton Albion winning only once. That win came in the most recent fixture between the two sides.

Jamie Allen and Jacob Davenport scored in a 2-1 win to take all three points back to Staffordshire in February.

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

Jake Buxton and John Brayford are doubts for this afternoon’s game, while Damien McCrory could play after recovering from a hamstring injury in the return against Sunderland.

BARNSLEY TEAM NEWS

Zeki Fryers, Ryan Hedges and Brad Potts are all unlikely to start against the Brewers. Cauley Woodrow will have to wait for his Albion reunion, as he is still a few games away from starting for the Tykes. Lloyd Isgrove has not trained after picking up a calf injury.

REFEREE

Antony Coggins has refereed five League One games this season and has issued 26 yellow cards. He has also handed out one red card and awarded two penalties.
