CLOUGH EXPECTS BURNLEY TO HAVE RIGHT ATTITUDE

25 September 2018

NIGEL Clough says that tonight’s opponents Burnley will be in a confident mood, although the Brewers boss says that Sean Dyche’s side would have had the right attitude no matter what form they were in.

The Clarets come into the Carabao Cup third round tie having picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth. Albion are also in good form, having won their last three home games in League One.

Regardless of form, Clough says that he is sure that Burnley will send a side with the right attitude to the Pirelli Stadium this evening.

He said: “We went into Saturday on a good run from our previous games and we do not want to lose any of that. With the games not being played against Barnsley, it means that we will play four consecutive home games (Sunderland, Burnley, Scunthorpe, Southend). That is good for the home form that we are in at the moment and we have to try to keep that run going against Burnley.

“They will come as confident as ever. One thing we thought when we saw the draw (for the third round) was that, with Sean Dyche, whatever team they play, whatever form they’re in, their attitude will be right. That doesn’t change and they will come here with renewed confidence.”
