ANOTHER year of achievement and growing engagement within the local community were celebrated at the Burton Albion Community Awards evening last night.
The fifth BACT Awards attracted more than 270 sponsors, partners and guests to the Pirelli Stadium, alongside staff Reece Brown, Sarah Evans and former player Aaron Webster, who hosted the evening.
The charity off shoot of Burton Albion, which is now eight years old and engages on average with 7,439 people a week, took time out to look back on the last 12 months and to honour those who have made a special contribution to that success.
Head of Community, Matt Hancock, said: “We’re delighted with how the night went and we are very grateful to everyone that came.
“We have continued to engage with high numbers of local people each week, as well as building an excellent infrastructure in both staff and facilities.
“We couldn’t have done that without three important things: an outstanding workforce, the support we receive from Burton Albion FC and our partners from all sectors.”
Matt thanked all the partners and supporters who had backed the trust, in particular, headline sponsors Ashfield.
Trust Chairman John Jackson said: “We have a lot of our partners and supporters in the room tonight and they all share in our pride at what we have done.
“We continue to improve year in, year out and it’s brilliant to see.”
