A WARM welcome to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday to a group of fundraisers who have walked here from Oakwell to raise cash for a special three-year-old boy - Louie George.
After a bad pregnancy Louie was born very prematurely at 28 weeks in March 2016 weighing a tiny 2lb.
More recently an MRI confirmed that Louie has quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy, along with global development delay, and severe PVL.
To be able to walk unaided and be pain free Louie needs SDR surgery which is life changing. SDR surgery was pioneered in St Louis, America, but it costs £120,000.
That’s a massive fund-raising effort for the family who are all supporters of Barnsley.
To that end, friends of the family have organised a sponsored walk from Oakwell to the Pirelli Stadium in time kick off at 3pm.
