MINUTE'S APPLAUSE WILL PAY TRIBUTE TO FANS WHO HAVE PASSED AWAY

8 April 2019

BURTON Albion will be organising a minute’s applause to pay tribute to those connected with the football club who have sadly passed away during the last year.

The tribute will take place before kick-off at the last home game of the 2018/19 season as the Brewers take on Luton Town on Saturday, April 27.

Supporters are urged to email the club by April 18 with the names of anyone they wish to be remembered. They will then be named in the matchday programme.

Burton Albion Commercial Director Fleur Robinson said: “It is always sad when anyone who has a strong connection to Burton Albion passes away as football clubs are big families where we all come together.

“We feel it would be a fitting tribute to hold a minute’s applause at our final home match to pay our respects to all those who loved Burton Albion but who are no longer with us.

“We hope fans react positively to this and if they do it might be something we do at the end of each season.”

If you wish to remember someone who has passed away in the last year and who had a passion for Burton Albion please email nigel.powlson@burtonalbionfc.co.uk by April 18.
