LUCAS Akins has been nominated for Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for March!
The popular forward has been in typically fine form and has moved in recent weeks onto 11 goals for the campaign, just one goal shy of his best ever return for The Brewers (12 in 2015/16).
And the EFL and Sky Bet have now confirmed that Akins has been nominated for the monthly, divisional award after a string of fine displays.
Their statement on this month's nominations reads: "Five goals and two assists in five games for a player who has reverted to his natural position after filling in at right-back. Now Burton’s all-time leading EFL goalscorer, his natural football intelligence brings others into play."
Lucas is up against Dimitri Cavare of Barnsley, Bristol Rovers striker Jonson Clarke-Harris and Peterborough United's Marcus Maddison for the award.
The winners will be announced on Friday, April 12.
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet EFL Trader Ivor Davies.
