ECCLESBOURNE STUDENT HUGO ENJOYS WORK EXPERIENCE DAY WITH BURTON ALBION

17 April 2019

HUGO Royston-Webb enjoyed a day of work he won’t forget any time soon - as he worked at Burton Albion Football Club for the day!

The 12-year-old student, who attends Ecclesbourne School, spent the day with Burton Albion Academy and our marketing department as part of Ecclesbourne’s “bring your child to work day”.

Hugo, whose mum Suzanne works in the club’s retail department, spent the morning with the Academy, and interviewed Player Performance Coach Shaun Barker for a school booklet about his time with the Academy, why he joined and what his role entails.

From there, Hugo trained with the club’s youth team at the National Football Centre at St George’s Park from 10am-1.30pm.

In the afternoon, Hugo went to the Burton Albion Community Trust office and spent the afternoon working with  Rob Slater from the club's marketing department, being shown the different ways the club utilises marketing and social media.

Hugo’s mum Suzanne said: “Hugo really enjoyed both parts of his day with the club!

“He obviously enjoyed the football side of it in the morning, but he also very much enjoyed the marketing side of it because he was shown some key tips that he can use for his future career.

“He would definitely love to come back again.”
