PIRELLI STADIUM TO HOST STAFFORDSHIRE SKILLS WEEK

17 April 2019

THE Pirelli Stadium is delighted to be hosting Staffordshire Skills Week from April 30 to May 2.

As part of its commitment to helping business grow, the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership supported by the local Chambers of Commerce are hosting a series of free Skills Workshops over these three days.

The first workshop on April 30th is Digital Masterclass - covering the absolute essential fundamentals of digital marketing including search engine optimisation, using social media as a marketing tool, effective email marketing, content marketing, the online user experience and using online data analytics to optimise performance. Everything you need to know to compete digitally.

On May 1st is the Sales and Negotiation Masterclass. Through a series of engaging and involving exercises this session will explore the fundamentals of an effective sales and negotiation process to help businesses sell better; the importance of focusing on and knowing your customer; how to communicate, influence and handle objections; and how to create the right conditions for a positive outcome.

And finally on May 2nd is the Procurement and Supplier Management Masterclass. This collaborative workshop will help you understand what effective procurement can do to drive profitability and reduce risk and provide you with the essential skillset to execute effective procurement.

Nik Hardy, President, Burton and District Chamber of Commerce and MD, Hardy Signs, said: "Staffordshire Skills Week is a really positive move from the LEP and I am really pleased to see such a strong commitment being made to Burton and South Staffs businesses.

"The need for local businesses to acquire the skills they need to grow and compete is critical and initiatives like this are a great way for these key skills to be developed. And with over 200 hours of free training on offer, no business in the area can afford to miss out on this great opportunity."

Fleur Robinson, Commercial Director at Burton Albion, said: "We are delighted to be hosting the GBSLEP's workshops at the Pirelli Stadium as part of their commitment to help local businesses grow.

"These workshops are huge opportunities for local businesses to acquire key skills, from Sales and Negotiation to maximising your digital marketing and publishing opportunities, and we believe that everyone who attends these workshops will see a real benefit when these skills are applied to their business."
