CLOUGH HOPES INJURY LIST WILL EASE FOR LUTON GAME

23 April 2019

NIGEL Clough will hope that at least some of his injured players will recover in time to take on Luton Town on Saturday.

The Brewers lost Brad Collins ahead of the Good Friday game at home to Portsmouth, joining David Templeton and Jake Buxton on the sidelines. Colin Daniel and Scott Fraser were then added to the injury list and missed the trip to Southend.

To make matters worse, top scorer Liam Boyce was stretchered off yesterday with an ankle injury.

The Brewers manager said: “With Scott Fraser, it’s a build up of games for him and fatigue. He has had to come off most games recently with his calf and with only a small amount of recovery time between the two Easter games couldn’t make it. We are hoping he will be OK on Saturday.

“Colin Daniel has a tight hamstring.

“We have four days rest before we play the top of the league and we will try and get them out there.

“Jake Buxton also has a chance of playing. We want to put the best team out we can against Luton.”

Clough was pleased again with the Brewers performance at Southend, despite the 3-2 defeat.

He said: “Despite missing a lot of key players we are still knocking the ball about and scoring goals. There are a lot of positives to come out of the Southend game.”
