BREWERS LOOK FOR MORE POINTS ON THEIR TRAVELS

19 August 2019

THE Brewers face back-to-back away games as they travel to Oxford tomorrow and Shrewsbury on Saturday but Nigel Clough says his team can win both games.

The Albion manager said: “We feel on our day that we can beat anybody in the league but we will have to play well. Oxford have signed a lot of players throughout the summer as have Shrewsbury and both will be hard games.

“We will go and play and give the same amount of effort we have done in the opening three league games. It’s will be very tough. The opening set of fixtures seems especially hard with all the away games we have got at the moment – six out of eight on the road. And Oxford will be one of the teams that fancy themselves for the top six.”

The Brewers will be waiting on John Brayford after he came off with a knock in the second half against Rotherham on Saturday.

Clough said: “John got a knock before half-time and wasn’t moving very well. We thought it was easing off but we had to take him off after the break. Hopefully he will be OK for this week.”

Tickets for Oxford United will go off sale at Burton Albion tomorrow at 10am.
