NIGEL Clough and members of Burton Albion's first team squad were on hand to support today’s fundraising event in memory of Tammy Minshall.

Student paramedic Tammy died when an ambulance she was travelling in was involved in a collision.

TL Darby Volkswagen and Else Solicitors decided to get together to hold a FUNdraising Day at the car dealer’s premises to honour Tammy and to raise much needed funds for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

As well as the Brewers manager, players Ben Fox, Richard Nartey and Nathan Broadhead attended the event.

Nicola Holmes, Corporate Sales Manager at TL Darby, was a friend of Tammy’s and helped organise the charity afternoon.

She said: “Else and TL Darby were already planning a charity event and when the tragedy happened we decided to make it in memory of Tammy and raise funds for the Air Ambulance.

“Lots of local businesses and people have supported us and members of the public have brought hampers in and prizes and donated money. It has been incredible.”

Nicola hopes the event will raise more than £2,000.

Nigel Clough said: “It was a pleasure to be part of this great event and TL Darby and Else have done a fantastic job. Everyone at the football club was saddened by what happened to Tammy and wanted to support this event in her memory and to help the Midlands Air Ambulance which does such a great job.”

Burton Albion Community Trust also supported the event taking along inflatables and games for visitors to participate in.

John Widdowson, BACT Community Operations Manager, said: “We were delighted to be able to support this event and to bring along the manager and the players who all enjoyed the visit to T L Darby. Burton Albion is all about community and this was also about the whole community coming together in memory of Tammy.”
