COLIN Daniel will be out for three to four weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s win against Morecambe.
The left back had to come off near the end of the game leaving the Brewers with 10-men and now faces missing tomorrow’s home game against Bristol and Tuesday’s trip to Crewe in the Leasing.com Trophy.
Nathan Broadhead is also likely to miss both fixtures as his hip injury proves harder to shake off than first thought.
Brewers first team coach Andy Garner said: “When we were 4-0 on Tuesday, we were looking to make changes for Saturday, and we thought there’s no need for Brayford and O’Toole to be out there. Then we made those changes and all of sudden Colin Daniel gets injured, so that was the disappointment and he could be out three to four weeks. That’s unfortunate and we could have done without that.”
The Brewers have Reece Hutchinson to call upon or could be tempted to move Kieran Wallace to left back.
Garner added: “We were also hoping Nathan Broadhead might be OK for tomorrow, but he might be another couple of weeks with his injury.”
Garner now wants to build on the unbeaten run of three games with a victory over Bristol tomorrow.
“We need that league win. It’s been a good start to the season, and we are happy with how we are playing we are just disappointed with the results against Ipswich and Rotherham, games we didn’t deserve to lose.”
