MATCH PREVIEW: BRISTOL ROVERS (HOME)

30 August 2019

THE Brewers kick off this Saturday against Bristol Rovers at home for their third home game of the League One season, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Tuesday night's successful win against Morecambe.

HEAD 2 HEAD

At their last meeting on New Year’s Day, Burton drew 0 - 0 with Bristol Rovers despite Ben Turner having the best chance at goal with a header in the 77th minute for the Brewers. The match before however did see a Burton win, with Academy graduate Ben Fox scoring in the 90th minute to make it 1 - 0.

BURTON ALBION TEAM NEWS

After Colin Daniel limped off to leave the Brewers with ten men in the final minutes on Tuesday, it has been confirmed that he is out for the next 3-4 weeks due to a hamstring injury. Nathan Broadhead is also likely to miss the game due to his hip injury.

BRISTOL ROVERS NEWS

After their defeat to Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, Graham Cloughlan said: "I feel for the lads tonight...I don't think they deserved that to be honest, I was really proud of them.

"But we can't be getting used to losing and we can't be accepting defeat irrespective of the opponent".

REFEREE

Peter Wright will be in charge of Saturday’s game, with Anthony Moore and Richard Morris assisting. Last season, Mr Wright handed out 103 yellow and seven red cards and has already handed out 16 yellows in his first five games this season with the appearance of one red.
