FANS TURN OUT FOR FAMILY DAY

31 August 2019

OUR first Family Day this season has taken place today and proved a big hit with visiting youngsters.

The activities today included: face painting, board games, a chance to play FIFA and a ‘quick’ play of football on the 3G pitch (the rain thought it was a good idea to make an appearance). There was also an inflatable just outside the entrance.

Helen from Horninglow who came with her son, said: “These events are good, they bring the community together and it’s nice to support the club.

“All of the kids have a good time.”

Her ten-year-old son Harrison had his face pained and was looking forward to seeing Liam Boyce play.

Our favourite mascots, Billie and Betty Brewer, were also making appearances during the event to welcome families and were available for photo opportunities.

Rachel, from Burton, said: “It’s been good for the kids beforehand with the mascots, they can get pictures here with them. There’s a good interaction here.”

Her son, Max who is 13, followed up with: “It’s been fun. I’m looking forward to seeing the goalie play in the match later.”

Our Family Days welcome all ages and help bring the community together, making a match day at the Pirelli Stadium even better!

Leslie, from Church Gresley, who has never been to a Brewers Family Day, also said: “I think these events are absolutely superb, they encourage the next generation of supporters. Burton is brilliant, the whole infrastructure is brilliant, and they are a great club”.

The FIFA proved a hit with the youngsters, especially with 12-year-old Preston, who said: “I liked the football and the FIFA, I won on penalties!”

The event also had some volunteers helping out and two of these were Luke and Chris. They said: “It’s nice to give back to the community, there’s a friendly atmosphere and everyone has a common interest.

“The community is involved in these events which is great, you don’t even have to enjoy football that much to enjoy to an event like this.”

If you paid a visit to the BACT building for the Family Day earlier on today, we hope you enjoyed it and we will see you soon!
