THE latest event in the Inspiring Your Future series will again put the spotlight on workplace wellbeing and the benefits that it can bring to a business.
It will be taking place on Friday, January 17, at the Pirelli Stadium.
The event will be hosted by Mark Clemmit (BBC Presenter) and will feature tips and advice from Dr Dorian Dugmore, PhD Cardiovascular Medicine. Also a Director of Corporate Wellbeing at the FA and Director of Beyond the Barriers, Dr Dugmore is a world leader in cardiovascular health and wellness, whose programmes have won global and European awards for best practice in corporate health and wellness and for improving the quality of life within the community.
Also on the bill for the afternoon is Executive Coach and Mentor Thea Roberts. Thea’s experience spans 27 years in commercial leadership roles up to MD level. She has responsibility for a turnover in excess of £450M and has led and developed large teams for retail and consumer packaged goods corporations, including Mars, Marks & Spencer, Waterstones and Essity. Inspired by facilitating positive change and unlocking potential in individuals and teams, she started her own business in 2018.
One further guest speaker will be announced shortly to complete the panel of experts for the event, which will be run in official partnership with Smith Partnership Solicitors. A donation from the day will go towards the development of Burton Albion Ladies FC.
Fleur Robinson, Burton Albion Commercial Director, said: "This event builds on the last successful one here at the Pirelli Stadium where we focussed on all employees. This time we are looking more at business leaders who are often concerned about the health of their businesses but might neglect their own well being.
"Healthy people, healthy business, starts at the top and goes throughout the workplace."
Claire Twells, from the Smith Partnership, said: “The Inspiring Your Future – Healthy People Healthy Business brings together groups of local businesses to inspire them to focus on personal development within their business.
“As a local business we are committed to the personal development of our staff and want to encourage other local businesses to do the same. We are looking forward to the event on January 17.”
There will be an optional networking opportunity from 11.30am, including a welcome drink. A prompt start to a two-course lunch will be at noon. The main event will conclude around 2.30pm but will be followed by a further opportunity for networking. Single places (or tables) can be booked, costing just £30 per person (including VAT).
