BURTON ALBION ACADEMY AND LADIES YOUTH TEAM SPONSORS VISIT JOINT TRAINING SESSION

5 December 2019

BURTON Albion Academy and Burton Albion Ladies were able to meet and thank their key sponsors at a joint training event held at the Burton Albion Community Football Centre this week.

The event on Monday evening saw young players from both sides, from ages 9-16, train together with a series of fun drills and sessions put on for each of the age groups.

And also attending were several shirt sponsors of both sides, with representatives posing for pictures with their sponsor-adorned shirts and the teams they support.

Jade Ball, Account Manager at Rushcliff, who sponsor the boys’ Under-16s and the girls’ Under-15s, said: “It’s great to be here to support Burton Albion. We’ve been long-time supporters of the boys’ team, so it’s great to see the girls team too here.

“It’s nice for us girls in the office to be supporters of the ladies team as well!”

Phil Randle, Managing Partner of Salloway who sponsor the boys’ Under-12s, said: “It’s a privilege to extend our long-standing sponsorship of Burton Albion, which we are increasing through the Academy and grassroots, and I wish Burton Albion every success.”

Simon Price, Director at National Pile Croppers, who are sponsoring the girls’ Under-13s, said: “It’s an excellent opportunity - as soon as we set the business up we wanted to get involved in the local community.

“My lad plays for the Under-14s side in the Academy and there was no better opportunity than to come to Burton Albion.”

Tim O’Connor, Managing Director at O’Connor Electrical, who sponsor our girls’ Under-16s side, said: “We wanted to put something back into the community. We get a lot of work from Burton and the surrounding area and these youngsters are passionate about what they’re doing, so we wanted to help out.

“This was us giving a little bit back to people that need it.”

Fleur Robinson, Commercial Director at Burton Albion, said: “We are hugely grateful to all of the sponsors who came to visit our co-training session, but also to everyone who has sponsored one of our youth teams this season.

“Between our ladies side and our Academy, we have 15 teams enjoying their football as part of a football club supported by many local businesses and businesspeople who, like Burton Albion, put the community at the heart of what they do.

“We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their continued support of Burton Albion, and the local community.”

Academy Manager Dan Robinson said: "It was fantastic to be able to celebrate the generosity of our sponsors with them being present and show them the good work that they are helping provide to.

"I would like to thank all of the companies and businesspeople who are backing our Academy this season, and we look forward to working with them going forward."
